Tayda's 125B is its own casting rather than a relabelled Hammond, and we carry measured figures for both.

It is about a millimetre wider and half a millimetre taller across the face, and its walls are noticeably thicker than Hammond's. The two roughly cancel, so the usable area comes out close, but a part seating against the inside of a wall sits further in.

How thick are the walls?

The 125B's walls are 2.2 mm thick. Like every diecast enclosure it also carries a casting draft: each wall leans out by 1.2 mm from the drilled face to the open rim, so the enclosure measures 67 × 122.1 mm at the rim and 64.7 × 119.8 mm across the face you drill. Worth knowing when a part seats against the inside of a wall, and why a caliper reading depends on where you take it.

What fits inside?

The internal cavity measures 60.3 × 115.4 mm at the face, and the screw bosses in each corner reduce the usable flat area for a circuit board to about 52.3 × 107.4 mm. The 125B is 1.1 mm narrower, 0.5 mm shorter and 0.5 mm deeper than the 125B. The outside is a touch bigger and the walls a good deal thicker, so they land in much the same place inside. Worth knowing if a jack or a pot body bears on a wall.
