Refund Policy

Stompbox Layout is free. A few things are sold separately as one-off purchases: features inside the app, the print files you download (the drill jig packs and the RAT 2 baseplate), and the printed jigs we sell on Reverb. This page is about those. It says the same thing as section 7 of our Terms of Service, in fewer words.

Changed your mind

Email stompboxlayout@gmail.com within 14 days of buying and we'll refund you in full. You don't have to give a reason, and we won't ask for one. Mention the email address you paid with, so we can find the payment.

Downloading the files, printing a jig or a baseplate and using it don't affect this. You can't tell whether a print fits without printing it, so a refund that expired the moment you downloaded would be worth nothing.

After that it's at our discretion. But if something you bought doesn't do what it says it does, tell us anyway. We'd rather fix it or give your money back than leave you stuck with it.

How the money comes back

It goes back to the card or account you paid with. How long it takes to land after that is down to your bank.

Which payment processor it goes back through depends on what you bought. Features inside the app are handled by Paddle, and the print files (the drill jig packs and the baseplate) are handled by Gumroad. Both act as the merchant of record, so whichever one is named on your receipt is the one your statement shows and the one the refund goes through. Either way, email us and we'll sort it out.

EU and UK consumers: your withdrawal right

By completing your purchase you expressly request that we begin providing the digital content immediately, and acknowledge that you lose the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal once provision has begun. The 14-day refund above is offered voluntarily, on top of your statutory rights, and is not affected by that waiver.

That is about digital content: the features inside the app and the print files you download. A printed jig is a physical item, and your right to cancel a physical order is a separate thing that none of the above touches.

The printed jigs

The drill jig packs are files you print yourself. We also sell a pair ready printed, through Reverb, and that one is an object in a parcel rather than a download. We post those within the UK only. Anywhere else, email us and we will see what we can arrange.

Reverb takes the payment and the returns terms on that listing apply, so it's the quickest place to start. Email us either way. If a printed jig won't seat on your enclosure we'd rather replace it or refund it than have you keep it, and we'd want to know: it's fixable, and you're unlikely to be the only one.

What a purchase covers

Features are bought one at a time. Buying one unlocks that feature on your account and nothing else. A drill jig pack is a download rather than an account unlock, and it covers the boards listed on the page you bought it from. The baseplate is a download too, and it fits the pedals named on its page. There's no subscription either way, so nothing renews and there's nothing to cancel. Anything paid we add later is a separate purchase.
