The Tayda 1032L is a long, narrow enclosure with no equivalent in the common Hammond range: about 253 mm end to end, 69 mm across, and deep with it.

That shape suits a strip along the front of a pedalboard: a row of footswitches, a multi-effect with its controls in a line, or a utility box that has to sit somewhere shallow.

How thick are the walls?

The 1032L's walls are 2.2 mm thick. Like every diecast enclosure it also carries a casting draft: each wall leans out by 1.6 mm from the drilled face to the open rim, so the enclosure measures 253 × 69 mm at the rim and 249.9 × 65.9 mm across the face you drill. Worth knowing when a part seats against the inside of a wall, and why a caliper reading depends on where you take it.

What fits inside?

The internal cavity measures 245.5 × 61.5 mm at the face, and the screw bosses in each corner reduce the usable flat area for a circuit board to about 237.5 × 53.5 mm. 1032L vs 1590DD

The 1590DD is 64.2 mm narrower, 51.8 mm taller and 15 mm shallower than the 1032L. The 1590DD is the widest Hammond here and the 1032L is longer still, on a much narrower body. Different problems: the DD spreads controls over an area, the 1032L along a line.

1032L vs 1590XX

The 1590XX is 106.5 mm narrower, 53.5 mm taller and 12.8 mm shallower than the 1032L. Not an alternative so much as the other way to get a lot of front panel: the XX gives depth of field, the 1032L gives length.
