About this drill template
Drill template for the Fuzz Dog Sideswipe, sized for a Hammond 1590B enclosure (59.3 × 111.2 × 27 mm). The pre-positioned holes match the PCB's pot footprint exactly, with the footswitch centred below the 4-knob layout. Print at 1:1 scale, tape to the enclosure face, centre-punch, and drill. PCB and parts not included.
Fuzz Dog description: “It's been said there are more pedals based on the Tube Screamer than there are grains of sand in the Sahara desert (it hasn't).”
A Tube Screamer derivative with a Baxandall tone stack in place of the stock single tone control, giving independent bass and treble. The mid-hump the 808 is known for is still there, but you can shape around it.
Build notes
Four-knob layouts are dense but manageable: the pots are spaced wide enough to grab individually, with the footswitch centred below.
The Hammond 1590B is the standard small DIY pedal enclosure: compact enough for a crowded board, large enough for most single-effect PCBs and a 9V battery.
Vendor specs: PCB 50 x 45mm, build difficulty medium.
Drill measurements
Hole centres for the 1590B 4-Knob (Type 1) layout. X runs left to right from the centre of the face being drilled. On the enclosure face, Y is measured from the centre, positive towards the top. For holes on a side, Y is the distance down the wall, measured from the face edge. Export the PDF for a 1:1 printable version with a scale check.
