About this drill template
Drill template for the Aion FX Anomaly Vintage Distortion, sized for a Hammond 125B enclosure (63.6 × 119.3 × 35.8 mm). The pre-positioned holes match the PCB's pot footprint exactly, with the footswitch centred below the 3-knob layout, with 2 toggles. Print at 1:1 scale, tape to the enclosure face, centre-punch, and drill. PCB and parts not included.
Aion FX description: “One of the original boutique drive pedals from the 1970s, notable for its method of overdriving an op-amp directly rather than using diodes for clipping.”
Aion FX's adaptation of the Crowther Hot Cake, one of the earliest boutique drive pedals (New Zealand, 1970s). It gets its breakup by overdriving the op-amp itself rather than clipping through diodes, which is why it responds more like a small amp than a typical distortion box.
Open, unscooped drive that keeps your amp's character: it cleans up at low gain and turns raw rather than compressed as you push it.
Drill measurements
Hole centres for the 125B 3-Knob 2-Toggle w/ Battery layout. X runs left to right from the centre of the face being drilled. On the enclosure face, Y is measured from the centre, positive towards the top. For holes on a side, Y is the distance down the wall, measured from the face edge. Export the PDF for a 1:1 printable version with a scale check.
