About this drill template
Drill template for the Fuzz Dog 7 of Dwarves Auto Wah, sized for a Hammond 1590B enclosure (59.3 × 111.2 × 27 mm). The pre-positioned holes match the PCB's pot footprint exactly, with the footswitch centred below the 4-knob layout. Print at 1:1 scale, tape to the enclosure face, centre-punch, and drill. PCB and parts not included.
Fuzz Dog description: “An updated and tweaked version of a 90's rackmount auto filter squeezed into a neat little 1590B package.”
An envelope filter derived from a 1990s rackmount auto filter, reworked by Fuzz Dog to fit a 1590B. The filter sweep follows your picking dynamics rather than a treadle, so the wah opens as you dig in and closes as you back off.
Build notes
Four-knob layouts are dense but manageable: the pots are spaced wide enough to grab individually, with the footswitch centred below.
The Hammond 1590B is the standard small DIY pedal enclosure: compact enough for a crowded board, large enough for most single-effect PCBs and a 9V battery.
Vendor specs: PCB 50 x 50mm, build difficulty medium.
Drill measurements
Hole centres for the 1590B 4-Knob (Type 1) layout. X runs left to right from the centre of the face being drilled. On the enclosure face, Y is measured from the centre, positive towards the top. For holes on a side, Y is the distance down the wall, measured from the face edge. Export the PDF for a 1:1 printable version with a scale check.
